To catch yellowfin tunas, longtooth groupers, and greater amberjacks with overwhelming speed, Shimano is introducing its most powerful electric reel ever – the BEASTMASTER MD 6000. Created with the proposition of achieving overwhelming power and speed, the heart of the powertrain MD = MONSTER DRIVE, is a newly developed motor called the NEW GIGA-MAX with greatly improved performance, achieving 2.5 times (*) the motor torque and 38 kg of practical winding endurance. The drive force is supported by a reinforced gear system that incorporates Shimano’s superior durability and attention to detail. Furthermore, the drag force, which is the decisive factor in a fight with a very large fish, achieves an astonishing 43 kg, the strongest in Shimano’s history, and reels in huge fish with unparalleled power.
The HAGANE body provides a highly rigid metal body while it is protected from heat generated by the drag section by means of a heat dissipation system, enabling the angler to fight for long periods of time without worrying about the reel. The 80/92mm long handle makes it easy to reel in the fish when fishing near the boat’s edge.
